SHB50115 Diploma of Beauty Therapy

The Diploma of Beauty Therapy (SHB50115) is a nationally recognised qualification under the Hairdressing and Beauty Services Training package (SHB).

This qualification has been designed for those individuals who wish to be employed as beauty therapists providing a broad range of beauty therapy treatments and services including facial treatments, body massage, body treatments, hair removal, lash and brow treatments, nail and make-up services.

This includes consultation with clients to provide beauty advice, recommending beauty treatments and services, and selling retail skin-care and cosmetic products. Work is typically conducted in beauty salons and day spas.

The Diploma of Beauty Therapy (SHB50115) may also be utilised as a stepping stone to university or higher education courses such as in the fields of nursing or cosmetic sciences.

Spa Specialist Program

The Spa Specialist Program is part of the Diploma of Beauty Therapy (SHB50115) under the Hairdressing and Beauty Services Training package (SHB).

This program has been designed for those individuals who wish to be employed as beauty/day spa specialists specialising in body treatments, providing a broad range of treatments and services including body treatments, body massages, spa therapy treatments, aromatherapy massage, Indian head massage and reflexology.

Students must have undertaken the Provide body massage SHBBBOS002 and Provide body treatments SHBBBOS003 units or equivalent before commencing this program. Work is typically conducted in beauty salons and day spas.

The Body Specialist Program may be a stepping stone to a full Diploma of Beauty Therapy (SHB50115).

SHBBBOS002 Provide Body Massages

This unit delivers the skills and knowledge required to provide full body relaxation massages.  Ensuring the alibility to establish client priorities, knowledge of anatomy and physiology and life style factors to consider when designing massage routines, provide advice on body products and protection and provide the relaxation massage.
