The qualification has 3 streams of electives you can choose to assist you in creating the qualification that suits you and your future career aspirations. You will learn how to provide a broad range of beauty therapy
treatments and services including:

• Provide waxing, lash and brow services
• Provide nail services, including manicures and pedicures with use of the electric file and acrylic & gel nail enhancements
• Apply tanning products
• Design and apply basic day & evening make-up
• Apply eyelash extensions
• Facial treatments
• Body massage
• Employ sales techniques and advise on products and services
• Conduct salon financial transactions in a salon environment
• Safe hygiene and work practices and infection control

This qualification provides a pathway to work as a Beauty Therapist in a beauty salon that performs beauty, massage, facial, make-up and nail services. This qualification can also be used as a stepping stone to
higher beauty and make-up qualifications.

Included in course fees: all products, equipment, learner guides required to complete this qualification unless mentioned under the Additional Fees section. Students are also supplied with a Makeup Brush Set and Makeup Artists Tool kit which consists of Mixing Palette & Spatula, Dual Pencil Sharpener, Eyelash Curler, Mascara, Eyelash Scissors and 3 x sets strip eyelashes.
Study Mode
Stream 1
Part time – 75 - 79 weeks on campus (1 day per week)

Additional 1 day compulsory practical work experience (on-site at WA Academy in the reception/client salon area)

Stream 2
Part time – 87 weeks on campus (1 day per week)

Part time – 85 weeks on campus (1 day per week)

Fast-Track & Full Time Study

Additional Study/Training
All streams include approximately 6 additional hours per week of prescribed reading, learner guides and workbook activities, knowledge questions and assignments (as applicable) that is to be completed off-campus.
Entry Requirements
The only formal entry requirement for this qualification is students enrolling must be 15 years or older. Please note Stream 1B for this qualification can only be undertaken by those 18 years and older.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment: As a requirement of the student entry procedure, students may have to undertake a Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment. This is assessed on a case-by-case scenario.
Student Requirements & Additional Fees
• WA Academy beauty uniform tunic to be worn with black professional pants and black enclosed shoes.
• Student will be required to supply a toweling body wrap and headband.
• General stationary and a padlock for use of the lockers.
• Student to supply mascara wands for make-up units (available from WA Academy)
• Students are required to supply models for all practical assessments to demonstrate their technical skills.
• The Training Package stipulates that all practical assessments must be performed on a variety of models.
• Models are also required to pay the model assessment fee charge as assessments must be performed on a paying client.
