When you complete the Certificate III in Hairdressing you will be set for a creative career that will make you a cut above the rest as a hairdresser. This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to complete your apprenticeship course to work as a qualified hairdresser. You will use a range of welldeveloped skills such as the following to provide a service to clients and take responsibility of the outcomes of your work:

  • Shampoo and basin services
  • Colour and lighten hair
  • Cut hair using scissors and clippers
  • Style and finish hair
  • Highlighting
  • Straighten, relax and volumise hair with chemicaltreatments
  • Safe hygiene and work practices

Course Code
This qualification is delivered via an apprenticeship pathway. It is delivered 1 day per week over a 2 year duration, with the normal term of a hairdressing apprenticeship being 3 years.
9am to 5pm

Each year the Government of Western Australia Department of Training and Workforce Development issue the VET FEES AND CHARGES POLICY that Registered Training Organisations such as WA Academy are required to adhere to, if you are studying under the government funded option of this qualification.
Student Requirements
Uniforms - WA Academy have a set uniform top for this qualification and the uniform is compulsory for attendance and must be purchased from WA Academy prior to commencing.

Equipment - apprentices are expected to supply a full set of hairdressing equipment to undertake their training and purchase the books required for delivery and assessment.
