SHB30315 Certificate III in Nail Technology

The Certificate III in Nail Technology (SHB30315) is a nationally recognised qualification under the Hairdressing and Beauty Services Training package (SHB).

This qualification has been designed for those individuals who wish to be employed as a nail technician to provide manicure and pedicare services, including the application and use of nail art, electric drill, acrylic and gel nail enhancements.
These individuals possess a range of well-developed technical customer and service skills where discretion and judgement is required and are responsible for their own work outputs.
This includes client consultations on nail care products and services. Nail technicians may also be self-employed and responsible for managing their own nail station. Work is typically conducted in a nail or beauty salon.

The Certificate III in Nail Technology may also be utilised as a stepping stone to higher qualifications in beauty therapy or related industries.

Nail Technician Program

The Nail Enhancement Program is a program designed from part of the Certificate III in Nail Technology (SHB30315) under the Hairdressing and Beauty Services Training package (SHB).

This program has been designed for those individuals who wish to be employed as a nail technician to provide nail services including the application and use of nail art, electric drill, acrylic and gel nail enhancements.

This unit delivers the skills and knowledge required to provide services and advice to clients requiring hand, foot and nail care.  Ensuring the ability to recognise relevant contraindications and conditions, to understand the structure and function of hands, feet and nails and the effects of treatments and products, and to select and provide services and advice to meet the objectives of the client
