SHB50115 The Diploma of Beauty Therapy is a nationally recognised qualification under the Hairdressing and Beauty Services Training package (SHB).

This qualification has been designed for those individuals who wish to be employed as beauty therapists providing a broad range of beauty therapy treatments and services including facial treatments, body massage, body treatments, hair removal, lash and brow treatments, nail and make-up services. This includes consultation with clients to provide beauty advice, recommending beauty treatments and services, and selling retail skin-care and cosmetic products. Work is typically conducted in beauty salons and day spas.

SHB50115 The Diploma of Beauty Therapy may also be utilised as a stepping stone to university or higher education courses such as in the fields of nursing or cosmetic sciences.

Course Code
Flexible and Fast-Track study options available from 1 day or 2 evenings per week up to 5 days per week.

Examples of Study Options:
Part Time Study Option 1 day or 2 evenings per week – approx. 2 years
Part Time Study Option 2 days per week – approx. 1-1.5 years
Full Time Study Option 3-4 days per week – approx. 1 year

Course Cost
Payment Plan $10,500: $500 deposit on enrolment (direct debit fortnightly).

Included in cost – all products, equipment and learners guides required to complete this qualification other than those listed under student requirements below. Makeup Artist Tool Kit (includes makeup artists utensils required for completion of the course).

Beauty units: Students will be required to supply a towelling body wrap and headband for beauty units.

Nail Technology units: Students will require a LED Nail Lamp to complete their Log Book as part of their nail assessments. These are available for purchase at WA Academy if required.

Portfolio: WA Academy utilizes in some units portfolios, assignments and log books to allow formative assessment through the duration of the qualification these are completed outside of class and at the students cost.
WA Academy have a set uniform for this qualification and the uniform is compulsory for attendance.
