SHB20116 The Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics is a nationally recognised qualification under the Hairdressing and Beauty Services Training package (SHB).

The Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics is the entry level qualification to the make-up industry. The course has been designed for those wanting to develop skills and knowledge to sell, demonstrate and apply cosmetic make-up products to an industry standard.

Participants will learn how to consult with clients, analyse face and skin, and demonstrate how to apply make-up products to suit each individual client’s requirements. They will also develop a range of skills such as how to create the right look for day, evening and special occasions as well as popular make-up techniques. You will also learn an introduction to customer service and retail operations and how to promote a range of cosmetic products.

This qualification provides a pathway to work as a retail sales consultant in any business that sells beauty or cosmetic products and services. This can include retail outlets such as cosmetic counters, department stores, pharmacies or beauty and hairdressing salons.

SHB20116 The Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics may also be utilised as a stepping stone to higher qualifications. Suggested qualifications include SHB30215 Certificate III in Make-up, SHB30115 Certificate III in Beauty Services and SHB40115 Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy.

50 hours of leaner guide reading and activities to be completed

Payment In Full $1,450: $300 deposit on enrolment balance paid prior to commencement.

Payment Plan $1,550: $300 deposit on enrolment balance $312.50 direct deposit four fortnightly payments.

Included in cost – all products, equipment and learner guides required to complete this qualification other than those listed under student requirements below. Makeup Artist Tool Kit (includes makeup artists utensils required for completion of the course).

Portfolio: WA Academy utilises in some units portfolios, assignments and log books to allow formative assessment through the duration of the qualification. These are completed outside of class and at the student’s cost.
