Hairstyling for Makeup Artists

WA Academy has developed and delivers a course with the makeup artist in mind. Frequently you are expected to be creative and confident in both the fields of hair styling and make-up artistry.

This course is in no way a hairdressing course (it does not include any aspects of cut or colour) it is purely a styling course.

This course builds from our Foundation and Advanced make up courses into the freelance world of hair styling. As now more than ever it’s important to have more skills than just make-up alone, this course is perfect for a make-up artist to learn added skills helping give you the pportunity to gain more work on photo shoots, catwalk shows and weddings.

Make up courses are taught by freelance hair stylists, known in the fashion industry as session stylists. Our session stylist will give you a thorough insight into working on bridal, back stage on shows and photo shoots, as well as teach you the most up to date looks and styles.

The course will cover the following subjects :-

Hair Product selection, tools of the trade building a session stylist kit, Sectioning, Blow drying in to styles, use of tongs, use of irons/ ghds, Braiding, Creating Curls, simple hair up design, Fashion pony tail and Photographic hair styling.
