SHB20216 Certificate II in Salon Assistant – Hairdressing Including Makeup
The Certificate II in Salon Assistant (SHB20216) is a nationally recognised qualification under the Hairdressing and Beauty Services Training package (SHB).
This qualification has been designed for those individuals who either wish to undertake a hairdressing apprenticeship and utilize the Certificate II in Salon Assistant qualification as a preparation course or those individuals who wish to be employed as a salon assistant in a hair salon. The skills and knowledge are of a basic nature and all undertaken under supervision, they include selling and demonstrating hairdressing products, shampoo, colour removal, drying hair, greeting and preparing clients applying hair colour products, braiding hair and a unit of make-up (including day and evening make-up application).
This qualification is most often used as a stepping stone to a hairdressing apprenticeship studying Certificate III in Hairdressing (SHB30416).

|Course Cost||Payment In Full $3,000: $1,500 on enrolment and $1,500 at week 7. Payment Plan $3,300: $500 deposit on enrolment balance $400.00 direct deposit seven fortnightly payments. Included in cost – all products, equipment and learners guides required to complete this qualification other than those listed under student requirements below.|

Hair units: Students will be required to purchase the Certificate II Salon Assistant hairdressing kit for $350 including blow-dryer, manikin heads and clamp, apron, equipment bag, brushes, combs – see hair kit list.
Make-up units: Students will be required to supply mascara and disposable mascara wands – these are available for purchase at WA Academy.
WA Academy uniform top to be worn with black professional pants and enclosed black shoes.
